Taylor, who has been the primary negotiator in many of the Reds' deals the last two seasons, said the staff will continue to focus on its most pressing issue - the impending Adam Dunn arbitration case. With an arbitration hearing scheduled to take place a week from Friday in St. Petersburg, Fla., the Reds need to determine how they will proceed with their power-hitting first baseman, and Krivsky's introduction will come almost immediately.
Taylor said the front office staff will have a conference call today with the Los Angeles-based lawyers set to argue the Reds' case against Dunn if a hearing is necessary.
"We need to bring Wayne up to snuff on the negotiations and talk a little bit about the case," Taylor said." I think he'll probably make a decision on how he wants to handle the negotiations going forward."
