Based on that, I'll add Lou Gramm's "Just Between You and Me" and "Midnight Blue."

No one said these guys had to be pure, WOY. I think of him as "Satan-lite."

Another one that came to mind...."Sometimes She Cries" - Warrant ; and my list would also have to include Tesla's "Love Song" (good call Johnny).

And I'm not sure if I am starting to blur the lines a a bit, but does Cinderella's "Coming Home" fit the description of the power ballad? If so, that one is in also.

    Lullaby-Zebra

    What it takes-Aerosmith

Farm on the Freeway-Jethro Tull (Not sure this is a ballad)

And practically every other song previously mentioned in this thread.

    Re: Your Favorite Power Ballads

Does Motley Crue's "Don't Go Away Mad" qualify as a power ballad? Always liked how that tune got right to the point.

I've always like Judas Priest's "Here Come the Tears." Iron Maiden's "Hallowed Be Thy Name" and Suicidal Tendencies' "How Will I Laugh Tomorrow" fit the power ballad song format though death row and chronic depression aren't exactly your typical power ballad song topics. Anyway, I'm picking those.

    Re: Your Favorite Power Ballads

Side question, would the folks picking "Sister Christian" have picked it if the movie "Boogie Nights" had never been made?

IMO, that's up there for most uniquely reinvented song ever with Stealer's Wheel's "Stuck in the Middle with You."

Yes, at least for me. Night ranger played at my High School in 1984. Besides that song's been an AOR staple for the last 20 years.

If you were in high school in the 80's, you probably like most of these.

Yep. I usually contribute to music threads, but up to now, have had nothing to say here.
