How many homeruns will Encarnacion hit this year?

I think Eddie Encarnacion will start off the year slow, a low batting average but he will display solid power and walk rates. Maybe a .750 OPS the first couple months(similar to his stats the final two months of 2005), but then everything will click mid way through the year as he adjusts to major league pitching. I see him ending up with an OPS around the .785-.810 area in his first full season, which I would be more than happy with.

For my homerun prediction, I will go with 24 homeruns.

With Aurilia killing his groove I am going with 11-15, more specifically 14 longballs in 300 ab's. If Aurilia goes down or Edwin jumps alot in his development I will go with 21 in 450 ab's.

Rich will steal at bats till he gets hurt, then EE will blossom and Rich will talk to the press daily about it.

i picked 21-25. even if his aveage is in the low 200's he will still hit some long balls. didn't he have around 10 last season?
there's nothing like bowling a 300 game! 13 now and retired.

If he gets above 20 Hr's and hits under .250 I prefer Eddie Mathews 1952 season to Gary Gaetti's 1982.

Spot on. I hate that this guy takes away AB's from the young guys, much less the groove he kills by taking away starts. Not sure why this has always been such a difficult concept to grasp by Reds Management.

94,448 home runs, which would be a record.

Is that in one game? Or for the season?

Remember Narron is on a 1 year contract.
    He can't afford a 3 year plan.

That's just the 5th inning of game 3 of the year.

People will still complain that he's too much of a pull hitter.

Yeah that theory plays big on the feral reds boards.

Warren Giles thought Hank Sauer pulled the ball too much so they traded him for nothing and lost out on 200 HR's over the next 6 years.

Re: How many homeruns will Encarnacion hit this year?

I'd love to see a lot more, but I picked 11-15. I just think it's going to take some time for EE to find the power stroke. Remember Morgan Ensberg struggled quite a bit, the first couple of years in another homer friendly park. I just hope the Reds F.O, the fans (and the announcers) are patient with him.
