I hope the brew crew has a press release form big enough to handle all the thank you's.

If so, it's to welcome him to the organization. Jason signed on last week.

SOFT LANDING - The man Krivsky replaced, Dan O'Brien, will work in baseball this season.

O'Brien said Monday night that he had accepted a job as an advisor to Milwaukee Brewers general manager Doug Melvin. O'Brien will serve as a special assignment scout and evaluate the Brewers' entire minor league system.

"This works out perfectly because it allows me to keep my hand in it and be involved and hopefully positions me for the future," O'Brien said from Arizona, where the Brewers train. "As far as scripting something, I'm not sure the pieces could have fallen together any better."

O'Brien has worked with Melvin before. He spent five years as an assistant GM in Texas when Melvin was the Rangers' general manager.

O'Brien said he would maintain his residence in the Cincinnati area for the time being. His wife, Gail, is a professor at Northern Kentucky University, and she'll be busy with work through at least May.
