Hopefully, the majority of them will be on the Playstation in the clubhouse.

    Doesn't seem like much, right?

He's done it in 145 less Plate Appearances.

Tony Womack should be playing in the Korean League or something.

    Including Womack's "career year":

    Freel (2004-2005): 1023 PA's
    Womack (2004-2005): 957 PA

Freel doesn't hit for much (any) power, but dude gets on base. That's what the Reds need at the top of the lineup.

I absolutely would love to get Phillips cheap like that. Absolutely.
I hope it's never sunny in Philly again.

Womak really has no business on this team. I'm guessing that Krivsky understands that and will get rid of him one way or the other. I have faith in Wayne.

Given the chance I would definitely kick Womak to the curb for Phillips. I doubt he would be free though, and I doubt that Aurilia would interest the Tribe.

womack had 185 hits during his best season. i don't believe freel could ever do that. of course he would have to be given a shot first.
there's nothing like bowling a 300 game! 13 now and retired.

Ryan Freel average 3.53 at bats per game in 2004 and 3.58 at bats per game in 2005, the first two years he's seen somewhat regular playing time, for an average of 3.555 at bats per game which equals 576 at bats over a healthy 162 game season. Freel's batting average over those two years is .275, which averages out to 158 hits over 162 games, however, Womack gets on base an average of 37% of the time while Womack gets on base an average of 32% of the time. While Womack will average 170 hits, 12 more than Freel, over 162 games, assuming each player made 4 plate appearances a game, Freel will get on base 240 times in a season, while Womack gets on base only 207 times in a season.

i would have no problem with freel playing everyday. the problem is his health and how versitile he is coming off the bench. he is younger and faster than womack as well. there has to be a reason why he isn't a starter.

True, but he had to come to the plate 704 times to get that, plus he made an out 70% of the time he came to bat that year too.

    Bump.

    You are a genius.

Some of the comments in this thread are pretty funny looking back.
