Jerry has stated that he'll always go to whichever game is furtherest away. It seems that EE is on the same plan. Seems like JN is taking an extra long look at EE this spring.

The Twins announcer mispronounced 7 out of the 9 names in the starting lineup for the Reds. Some of them were badly botched.

Missed the beginning, but the Reds put Wise, Hatteberg, and Rhodes on base in the first and didn't score. Edwin Encarnacion popped up with two on and one out, so count on another Narron comment about knowing how to play the game.

Re: 3/8/06 Reds vs the Twins

Popup to shallow center gets Dave Williams the first out. Wind playing tricks with the ball today.

Luis Castillo draws a five-pitch walk.

Joe Mauer grounds to second and Aurilia bobbles the ball. He manages to get the FC, but Mauer beats the throw to first. Two out.

Rondell White. Grounds quickly into a 5-4 FC.

    End of 1, 0-0.

Good thing he didn't strike out.

Re: 3/8/06 Reds vs the Twins

    Top of 2.

Andy Abad. Works a full count, then draws the walk.

Ray Olmedo. Scrappiness is expected here. Bunt is popped up to the catcher. Someone get the rifle. One out.

Dane Sardinha. Another popup to the catcher. Two down.

DeWayne Wise. Doubled in the first. Smacks a 1-2 pitch through the infield for a single, moving Abad to second.

Rich Aurilia. Falls behind 1-2 as the announcers recount the Mariners' signing of Rich as their "shortstop of the future" (WTF?) and their quick disappointment. Aurilia looks at a third strike to end the inning.

Not the most riveting game ever. 0-0 after 1.5.

Re: 3/8/06 Reds vs the Twins

This one announcer is about the most unprofessional person I've ever heard on the radio. I realize he's not familiar with the Reds roster, but at least make an attempt to pronounce the names correctly. This guy isn't even trying, he's an embarassment.

It may be the same announcer the other day who opined that Harang wasn't a lock for the rotation. I just about drove off the side of the road when he said that...

    Bottom of 2.

Torii Hunter gets on base somehow, didn't hear.

Cuddyer. Williams walks him, too, after getting to 2-2.

Tony Batista. Waves at the first pitch and pops up to Olmedo. You can always count on this guy. This is then related to Kirby Puckett by the announcers. Nice, dudes.

Jason Hart. 1-2 pitch popped up to first, two down.

Williams then whiffs Nick Punto to finish the inning.

0-0 after 2. Dave hasn't exactly dominated, but it's been his best outing to date.

Re: 3/8/06 Reds vs the Twins

    Top of 3.

No, Krono, he wasn't. Although the way Dane hits, he might as well be bunting every time.

Hatteberg watches two straight strikes. C'mon, swing! This isn't Oakland. He flies out to right.

Encarnacion. HIGH DRIVE TO DEEP LEFT-CENTER OHMIGOD IT'S OUTTA HERE HOME RUN NUMBER FOUR OF THE SPRING

    1-0 Reds.

Rhodes. High fly to right is out number two.

    Denorfia. Another fly to right.

    End of 2.5, it's Encarnacion 1, Twins 0.
