She would never get away with that type of language on here!

    1. I didn't see the tape. It says it has been taken down.
    2. People do make mistakes.
    3. ESPN is a cable network, so the FCC has no say in the manner as they do for over-the-air broadcast. So ESPN will not be fined.
    4. This isn't the first time bad language has been heard on ESPN all the time. I have heard athletes used profanity during games before.

A reprimand by her boss and a public apology is in order.

This is how I see it, I haven't seen the tape in question however.

    Agreed.

It's not like this is the first (or last) time an F-bomb has been dropped on an ESPN program. Pretty much every time they mic up a player on the sidelines, a few F-bombs manage to sneak past the three-second delay. Sargent is obviously pretty new to the broadcasting gig and made a dumb mistake. Feces happens. Apologize and move on.

I don't see what te kerfuffle is about. She obviously was saying something when she thought her mic was and should have been off air. There are a number of people at fault here including the broadcaster but it's really a storm in a teacup.

didn't something like this happen to Mark Grace last year?

if i recall, he wasn't even fined because the broadcast was supposed to be at commercial.

It's a simple blooper... period. I don't think it was something she purposely did. She thought they were off the air OR they were suppose to be. I'm sure if we could hear the dialogue of alot of what is said by people when not on camera we wouldn't be amazed.

Laugh at it, and let it go.

I just finished reading a book about the history of ESPN and when Olbermann was there with Dan Patrick doing the Big Show, they wrote their own copy and had it with them on the set so if there was a malfunction, they would be OK.
