I see another trade in the making here after todays events, seems that alot of folks here have overlooked the 1.5 million that was included in the deal. What does everyone think they will use it for? I see them using it towards signing a closer, but that's just me.

Actually, it's the exact difference between Pena's and Arroyo's '06 salary, so it may not be extra.

I think the cash will just go toward Arroyo's salary for this year. I believe Wily Mo was getting about 1.5 million this year. Arroyo is due 3.5 million for the year so I think they will just take the 1.5 they got from the trade to pay for Arroyo for the year.
Yup -- no "extra" cash here. Just makes us not have to adjust the budget. A real value deal would've been an extra 1.5 mil to buyout Womack.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
