Menechino, Cruz, Ross, Kata = Garbage

Cut these scumbags. Don't tell me Cruz is a good pinch hitter. He hit .230. That's pathetic.

Get these dirtballs out of here and sign up Buchanan and Abad.

    That's a reasonable reaction.
I hope it's never sunny in Philly again.

    Must be Lancaster venting
It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...

Does anyone here think any of these 4 guys can contribute to the team?

Dude, he was tops in the league in pinch-hits. Batting average doesn't matter that much when you're a pinch hitter. It's the amount of pinch hits that matter, and that's where he did well. So don't tell me that he ISN'T a good pinch hitter.

If the Reds did not have Aurillia I would say keep Kata or Menechino but sonce they do have Aurillia I can't see these guys sticking around. Menechino is a RIOT though. Reminds me of Corky Miller. It's amazing how other players gravitate towards MINI-Chino. He'll be a great coach some day.

Dude, are you saying that a guy who goes 30/150 is a better pinch hitter than the one who goes 25/50?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I bet Jacob the Spaniard Cruz also led the league in game ending strike outs.

He only led the league in pinch hits because he got the most chances.

Deport him. I mean cut him. Or both?

Damn, I guess you have a point here. Just forgot what I said before about average not being important.

The point I was trying to get across was that Cruz is not a bad pinch-hitter. But, to answer your question, yes I would prefer a 25/50 guy over a 30/150 guy.
