Redszone Poll - Who wins the AL East

Final portion of the American League

-Yankees - New Hottness or Old and Busted?
-Are the Red Sox problems "blistering" up or are they "tendon" towards being healthy?
-How much per win did the Blue Jays spend in the off season?
-Does the Leo Mazzone Show in Baltimore equal big improvements?
-Joe Maddon wants Tampa Bay to call their home "The Pit" - Apt name for a pitching poor franchise?

    Tomorrow - the NL

Injuries kill the Jays, yanks win by default.

I kind of thought the opposite. I thought the yankees and red sox could be vulnerable to injuries, so chose the Blue Jays.

The Yanks pitching staff could be real ugly this year. I'm not sure they're gonna get an Aaron Small type performance to save their butts. The Blue Jays offense does nothing for me and seems to have little real upside. Red Sox are the only real balanced squad and with their minor leagues seem to have the depth to handle a few injuries..
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

man, talk about disrespect. The D-Rays have infinitely more votes to win the division than the O's do.
We'll burn that bridge when we get to it.

I voted the Blue Jays - although I think the O's could surprise early in the year, due to their arms. The O's have probably the best potential staff on paper, if Mazzone takes all their starters up a notch as he usually does. But Jeff Conine, Kevin Millar and Corey Patterson getting a combined 1300-1500AB will doom that team.

Blue Jays may have gone spending crazy this offseason, but I just don't think they're as complete a team as the Red Sox are.

Pitching worries me with Boston, but I trust that they, like the Yankees, will go out and deal for whatever they need when the chips come down.

Who always wins? Nothing will change.
"My mission is to be the ray of hope, the guy who stands out there on that beautiful field and owns up to his mistakes and lets people know it's never completely hopeless, no matter how bad it seems at the time. I have a platform and a message, and now I go to bed at night, sober and happy, praying I can be a good messenger." -Josh Hamilton
