    Math Trick

    It's really not hard to stump me since math was one of my worst subject.

    Personally I would like to know who came up with this.

    1. Grab a calculator

    2. Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT YOUR AREA CODE)

    3. Multiply by 80

    4. Add 1

    5. Multiply by 250

    6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number.

    7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again.

    8. Subtract 250

    9. Divide number by 2.

    Do you recognize the answer?
    "panic" only comes from having real expectations

    Its a simple algebraic equation and will work for a myriad of numbers. Theres one for birthdays etc. The SABR guys should be able to point you to the equation. I've seen it somewhere before but can't put my hands on it.

    Here's a simpler one:

    Key in the first 7 digits of your telephone number.

    Recognize it?

    250(80a+1) + 2b – 250
    2

    a=first 3 digits
    b=last 4 digits

    Re: Math Trick

    Here is another interesting one called "Your age by chocolate":

    1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to
    have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)

    2. Multiply this number by 2! (just to be bold)

    3. Add 5

    4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator

    5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1756 ....
    If you haven't, add 1755.

    6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

    You should have a three digit number now.

    The first digit of this was your original number
    (i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).

    The next two numbers are YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)
