That reminds me of a sweet joke about University of Tennessee Fans:

Why do UT fans wear orange?

So they can go to the game on Saturday, hunt on Sunday, and pick up trash along side the road the rest of the week!

I'd turn it back to 1986!

Seriously though, aren't the Mets in on the 20th anniversary of the infamous game in Cincy with Knight vs Davis, ect.

On research, nope, anniversary of that series occurs just after the Mets leave town.

Here is that game from a great site (well of you need info on the New York Mets) called UltimateMets.com the Ultimate Mets Database!

Yup, San Quentin prison in California, and I took a Johnny Cash song to use as a reference point. As I said, its on his San Quentin album, not sure if he ever recorded it for a studio album though

Just realized that I could also have been referencing McCovey's time for tax envasion! Although he obviously wasn't in San Quentin, Folsom or any other max security pen.

They do at that. I lived there when they decided to scrap the orange and go with the traditional look... of course they also introduced the Crab around then too so it's not like they were batting 1.000.

Thankls for update Marco........I love the throwbacks........I know Milwaukee and Washington had tribute Negro game using Milwaukee Bears and Nationals wore the Grays a few weeks ago....Now they need to bring back the turn ahead the clock jerseys.as seen here.althought the Reds never did participate in this in 1999.

    Good one!

I used to live in Knoxville and work with rabid UT fans, so I wish I'd had that joke to use back then. On second thought, it was probably better for my safety that I didn't.

They looked pretty neat. Saw highlights of SF and A's game. Kinda weird seeing both teams in dark jerseys. Bonds even steals a base in them. They looked so big on them. Wonder who the last team to wear a pullover jersey was. Seemed like 80's almost every team used that type......Maybe someone can post a pic from the game last night....Didn't Indians and Reds use some funky throwbacks in game a couple years ago?

TB and Braves game is on TBS now. Braves have cool looking 70's blue jerseys. The Tampa Tarpons jerseys are from a class A 70's Reds team!
