Spring stats don't count? How about this comparison against the same Indians lineup (at least for the first half of the game):

Milton: 5 ip 3 hits 1 er 2 bb 9 k's

Buehrle: 4 ip 4 hits 3 er 1 bb 2 k's

Not saying I'd rather have Milton, but it does give me reason to hope for a good year out of him.

I removed the question mark. Until Milton shows he can string multiple quality starts together I would say skepticism is the preferred course of action.

No idea what his spring numbers were in '05. And I agree that 1 game's performance can't predict the whole season. But, like I said, reason to be hopeful. If he strings together a couple typical '05 starts, then my hopes will be dashed. Until then, I prefer to be optimistic.
