I've been very impressed with the Reds patience in the first two games. They are really working the opposing pitchers.Originally Posted by M2

Almost any time the Reds are working the pitcher and getting walks the offense will have a good night. THay have too much hitting ability to be continually getting free passes and not make someone pay.Originally Posted by M2

It's brutally effective. Not only does it grind down the starting pitcher, but you get to see all those 6th and 7th relievers who really shouldn't be pitching in the majors in the first place.Originally Posted by BRM
The 1998 Yankees were the best I've ever seen at doing it and, not coincidentally, the Reds have the same hitting coach. The tough part of it is having the confidence to stick with it. It's counterintuitive to what you're taught as a kid and it's easy to get nervous or anxious and expand your strikezone early in the count.

Doesn't look that bad. It all depends upon the direction it's moving. Right now, it looks like Cincy's going to get hit with the green part, which is the weakest part of the front.Originally Posted by redsfan30

Looks like it's moving east, southeast.
Not good.

We got snow in Boston yesterday, which kind of skews a person's definition of foul spring weather.

Good to know that everyone will get over the Casey Returns emotional roller coaster tonight so that we can all focus on the main event on Friday night:
Milton vs. Casey.
or
He Who Can't Keep The Ball In The Park vs. He Who Can't Hit The Ball Out Of The Park.
It'll rank right up there with Hector Carrasco vs. Reggie Sanders.
Movable Object vs. Resistable Force, The Sequel.
We're on blizzard watch tonight. Is it spring yet?Originally Posted by M2

It's been beautiful here as well for the last couple of weeks. I guess we need one last snowstorm before summer.
