Trot Nixon has injured his groin (ouch), so Pena will be getting a lot more playing time now. It should get interesting very soon.

Sure Arroyo hits home runs AND pitches.

But can he catch? Because you can never have enough catching.

And can he play 2nd base?

pena has an unusual first name and redsox fans will find out soon enough that you cant spell Wily Mo without a K

My own psychic abilities scare me sometimes, I swear I'm going crazy! But then the voices in my head assure me I'm going to be alright. Whats the over/under on Wily Mo helping balls over the wall this year?

Yeah thats crazy ... how often does that happen. BTW Arroyo 2 Hr's, and Pena 0 .. Pena 1 HR given up on defense.. how many for Arroyo pitching?

Re: Official Arroyo vs Pena Homerun Tracker

What is Bronson slugging after that second homer?

Never mind, i looked it up: He's slugging a phat 2.00
    Pena checks in slugging .667
1 double and a RBI in 3 plate appearences for wily mo.
Bronson is winning in the RBI category as well!

Compare strike outs: Bronson: 1 in 6 plate appearances Wily Mo: 2 in 3 plate appearences

Walks: Bronson: 1, Wily Mo: 0

    On Wily Mo's little gaffe:
From the Bo Sox wrap -
Once again, the offense produced some timely hits and the defense -- save for Wily Mo Pena accidentally deflecting a Frank Catalanotto flyball into the bullpen for a home run -- made all the plays.
    From the Jay's wrap-
Frank Catalanotto followed with a two-run homer to right field that bounced off outfielder Wily Mo Pena's glove and into the Jays' bullpen.
    AP-
Frank Catalanotto hit a two-run homer in the eighth, a long drive that went off substitute outfielder Wily Mo Pena's glove and into the Toronto bullpen.

Hey, he did us Red Sox fans a favor. If not for that HR, we wouldn't have gotten Papelbon in the 9th. And a home opener without Papelbon is like a day without sunshine, or something like that.
