    Jimmy Rollins: The Streak Ends!

STreak Ended today at 38 Games.

he was 0-4 with 2 Fly Outs, 2 Ground outs.. 1 being a base hit bunt attempt.

Phils fail to turn the lineup and allow him a 5th attempt and he ends 8th all-time on the list.

Good, it wasn't really a streak.

As i said before this was as much a streak as anyones IMO.

He had 5 months to sit and think about how he had hit successfully in 36 Games And move that # to 38 before it ended.

Congrats to him and id love to see another player get to the #30 this season just get the excitement going again

    Congrats Rollins!!

Lets see a RED get one goin

I see your point, and his streak last season was impressive. I just don't think that if he had approached the record that it should have been held in the same regard.

No.. i understand the "splitting" of the records.

However it was just as high an Achievment had he broke it in ONE season or TWO.

Ah well like i said i hope someone else gets UP THERE in the area again this season Makes for some fun watching things like that.

Superstar Josh Hancock is the last pitcher that Rollins faced today.

If he set out this year due to a injury and started again in 07 would it still be considered a streak?

    Why not?

I think the more you think about a record.. the HARDER it is to break.

So theoretically speaking a hitting streak, to be held in high regard, can not possibly be any longer than 162 games?

Re: Jimmy Rollins: The Streak Ends!

    Yea i dont get it.

Either way you still hit successfully in X ammount of games.

Whether it be all in this season or over a span of time. YOU STILL DID IT!! Best part is the long the streak gets.. the harder people try to get you OUT, or give you less to hit.

Look at Bonds.......at this rate he'll never hit another HR let alone enough to pass Hank Aaron lol.

A streak IS a streak.. plan and simple.. whether it be 56 STRAIGHT Games or 36 with 5 months off.

So if you have a streak of 45 going into the allstar Break.....then after the break it should start over too right?

Ah, that's too bad. He seems like one of the "good guys" out there.
Anyone see his records for Quadruple Doubles?" Pretty cool too.
