    .331 Avg

Leading the NL in batting with a .331 team batting average

    2nd with 9 homeruns

    2nd with 27 rbi

Small sample size but still we know this wont be too far off from how itll end up.

Don't get too attached to that high BA.

Sans Casey and with Womack/Hatteberg/Dunn playing every day, I'll be surprised if the Reds end up in the top half of the NL in that stat. However, they should still do just fine in the most important offensive stat ... runs scored.

I'm more concerned about runs allowed.

    Re: .331 Avg

I shold have made the point... the offensive stats continue like they were last year yet the runs allowed continues to outpace our runs scored.

Basically...same crap different year. Though ill take the current record, the pitching staff, bullpen specifically, will waste the productivity the bats are giving us.

We cant blame GABP either...the walks the bullpen gave is a screaming example. *sigh*

I like this stat better: 3 wins 1 loss.

Guess we shouldn't get attached to a .750 winning percentage either.

What -- you don't think the Reds will go 122-40 this year? What kind of fan are you...?

They also sport a very handsome 6.25 ERA and .297 BAVG.

    I tell ya what.

    consistancy.........is the key.

I dont expect these #'s all season.. But lets find a compfort zone for both pitching and hitting and lets try to get IN THAT ZONE and stay there.

Milton's 2nd start is what i look forward too...... If he gets consistant and can do as good as he did the other night we're gonna make some noise this season.

Id like to see us win 60% of our games That is a realistic Goal. Well somewhere between 50-60 % .. but lets shoot for 60... that way .500 is a reality come September

And they've let 12-of-14 (86 percent) of inherited runners score.

    And against who?

Let's linger for a moment to acknowledge the almost unprecedented level of incompetence with the Reds' bullpen this week. That inherited runners scoring number is awe-inspiringly, staggeringly, impressively awful. If you were trying to fashion a Bizarro-bullpen, you would aim for that kind of sheer incompetence.

Aaron Harang has been the most victimized by this, five runners left to the pen, all five allowed to score.

As I have said elsewhere, shameful.
