Best of the other NL Central Fan Boards 4/9/06

    1. http://discuss.pittsburghlive.com/vi...er=asc&start=0

Doyle37 over at the Pirates board doesn't think much of the Reds and predicted a sweep at the GABP.

First off...the Reds suck. Secondly, the Bucs ( specifically, Casey, Burnitz, Castillo and Bay ) hit well in Cincy. Finally, the Bucs are playing ok. The Brewers just seem to have our number for the last couple of years. The Bucs are due to bust out and Cincy is going to pay. Openning Day in the Burgh the Bucs will be 4-3.
    2. The Cubbie fan believe the Reds always get off to a hot start and fade away.

    3. Also they are obsessive over Adam Dunn and think Juan Encarncion is a bum..

    4. Also, there is a funny thread about Edmonds experience in the Wrigley showers. I'm sure George Grande would be interested in this one.

    5. Cards fans panties are in a bunch since a Cub pitcher compared the Cards to just another AA team to him.

Looks like they are being over sensitive and taking the kid's quote out of context.

“It’ll be great,” Marshall said. “It’s just a team. I’m going to pitch against them like any other team, just do what I’ve been doing. You make good pitches, you’re going to get outs. Even though it’s our rivalry and they’re one of the best teams in the Central, it’s a Double-A team for me. I’m not going to take it any different.”

I had no idea Cub fans were that much in love with Dunn.

they're 0-6, and if you're in the NL central, and the brewers have had your # the last couple of years, then you suck.

Pittsburgh, to me, is an object lesson in why you don't a) exclusively target prospects in trade and b) rely exclusively on the farm to turn around a franchise.

And here I was planning to take a big dump on their cyber-coffee-table.

If they are talking about us then they are worried about us.

The Pirate fan has already shown how big of a moron he is.

Cubs fans appreciate Dunn more than a lot of Reds fans do.

Probably because he destroys their pitching.

Doesn't the entire NL have the Bucs number?

The Brewers have had the Reds number the past few years too. They cost us a trip to the playoffs in 1999 and it always seems that even if we are playing well they always beat us. Since 1999 the Reds are 54-58 against the Brewers. The Pirates on the other hand since 1999 are 61-50.

Right, what were the Reds' splits pre- and post-All-Star break last year? And what were the Cubs'?

I have a bit of a soft spot for the team itself, but good God do their fans make it difficult to like them.
There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.
