Speaking of media coverage....a word of advice to FSN...

Am I missing something? Why aren't ALL the games that aren't on television anywhere picked up by FSN? I would think that the Reds would want to televise games for their fans, and might help cover some costs or something of it. I know I'm pretty upset about the Cubs series this week not being on television. My girlfriend is a Cubs fan and I'm a Reds fan and we always like to watch. I would watch every Reds game I could if they were all televised. I guess this is what happens when Baseball tries to make money off of a webcasting thing like MLB.TV or whatever. I have bought the radio one so that I can at least hear the games. I hear there are way too many blackouts on the TV one.

Anyone shed any light as to why FSN doesn't pick up more games?

Atleast this week, 2 of those 3 games are on national TV on WGN. Someone else said that tuesday's is on a dish network channel.

Reds aren't good enough to spend the cash on televising them all, if the Reds start contending regularly then the number will go up.

A few years back it was 90, now it's 100..not much but something.

Because they bought a bank of games in their original contract and they will only add to it if revenue is to be had, that means later in the season if they can make larger amounts of ad revenue due to the high demand of winning Reds baseball they will.

Until then they are going to see what the market produces before they add more games.

Thanks for the information about WGN. If anyone finds out which channel Tuesday's game is on, let me know please.

    On the bright side...

After the 3-game series at Wrigley, the REDS will be on FSN 21 of the next 27 games. I wish they were all on TV. However, I am old enough to remember when we'd get about 1 game a week on TV (before cable). Things are better than those days!

Here's a strange tidbit relative to FSN:
    * In 2005 the REDS were 35-64 (.354) when televised on FSN and 38-25 (.603) when not on FSN.
    >> 61 FSN games were on the road (21-40 record) and 38 FSN games were at the GABP (14-24 record).
    >> 20 non-FSN games were on the road (10-10 record) and 43 non-FSN games were at the GABP (28-15 record).

It's better for those of us who have cable, but for the few who don't, it must stink not getting to watch them at all. I'm sure they would love to see one game a week.

So does that mean we blame George Grande now instead of Bob Boone?

I have Adelphia cable in Richmond, Kentucky. I guess I'll be listening on MLB Radio. It's a real shame that since 700 WLW or 1580 AM don't come in here, that a person would have to pay to listen to a Reds game. This is less than 2 hours from the stadium. Whatever happened to "The Big One"? Just a gimmick now, I'm afraid.

Marge slipped the "Big One" to the Reds Fans when she began to shrink the teams market back in the 80's.
