Of recent memory is Daniel Day Lewis in Gangs Of New York, as Bill The Butcher.
Brilliant acting job.

For every action there is an equal and opposite criticism.
Alan Rickman, again. But in the Kevin Costner version of Robin Hood.
Rickman had me cheering for the Sheriff of Nottingham.
This freakin guy.

Benzinger backing and calling! And the 1990 world championship series belongs to the Cincinnati Reds!
Alan Rickman is unbelievable with his sneering villian-ness! He absolutely JUMPS out of the cookie cutter script of Die Hard! And yeah Robin Hood - even as Prof. Snape in the Harry Potter stuff. Obviously, you might have guessed that he gets my vote.

And lets not forget his pupil, Billy Zabka, bully extraordinaire.

This is a great question...
There are so many different types of villians that I've liked in movies...
There's Creepy, vaguely psychotic Villain:
("Gladiator")
There's Stereotype Ethnic Villain:
("The Goonies")
There's Evil Cartoon Villain:
("He-Man")
and, of course Malfunctioning Computer Villain:
("2001")
