There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.

The bullpen has pitched 5 1/3 scorless innings over 2 days.

    Just saying.

Does this sound pretty scrappy of them? Or manly?

    It's hard to know.

Also, if Milton sucks but no one actually saw him suck does he still suck?

And is 2-0 with a 2.63 ERA over 2 games (averaging close to 7 innings per start) enough for anyone to think he can be a 4.50 ERA innings eater again?

I don't grade starters to about the 5-10 starts under their belt. Milton is starting better than last year, but he completely tanked in May last year while Claussen struggled in April and begin to find a groove in May.

Quick starts are nice, but not necessarily a big deal.

Encouraging - but still too early. If what people are reporting is true (that he is getting much more drive from that knee) then maybe, maybe, maybe. But its still too early.

Regardless of what happens from here on out, Eric Milton has already topped anything that he did in 2005.

I think Milton does look better this year.

Last year he was having such a hard time planting on his lead foot then his shoulder would fly open and the ball was almost always above the belt. He doesn't seem to have as much problem with that this year.

    It's early though. We'll see.

The Reds have made Zambrano into a girlie man twice in a week. Now, go see if the Cubs ready to trade him in a weak moment after watching him implode with a balk and an error on a pickoff move with the opposing pitcher on third.

Angel Pagan. An oxymoron if I've ever heard one.

Milton wasn't good at all in April last year, finishing the month with a 6.75 ERA. He's light years ahead of that.
We'll burn that bridge when we get to it.
