It's an injury and they just don't want to say so.

I was worried before the season started. Counting on Jr to play more than 100 games seemed like a losing proposition. Now he has a leg problem that is "minor". Of course the Reds have never underplayed a Jr injury.

They just don't want to play Junior. "His power really is valuable coming off the bench." Narron was quoted as saying this morning. "Besides, if he plays, he might get hurt. This way we can keep him healthy."

    Hey, at least they're consistent.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I guess Dunn will be joining him there shortly.

Of course my prediction was Jr would sit a week before going on the DL.

Someone cynical might say that they're going to keep him "day to day" through the weekend so that people planning to come to the ballpark for their short 3 game homestand don't potentially lose interest because Griffey is on the DL....

Oh yeah, and Sidney Ponson looks like Kurt Angle after a run in with a Chinese Buffet or four.

It'll give Larue a spot on the roster without having to release a scrappy vet.

I looked at this lineup and threw something. When on earth is JN going to move Aurilia and Hatteberg out of the 4/5 spots? It freaking makes me angry because it's STUPID!

Historically, how many times has KGJr proven to management that he's not a pinch hitter? He even says it himself.... and I read somewhere that they listen to Jr. Hah!

Has there ever been a game thread where complaining about the lineup wasn't predominant?
