Mike Shanon on Card's broadcast on that HR call:

"Swing. That's a home run. Wow. That's way out of here."

    His voice never changed inflection...

Ha! Great home run call by the Cards announcers.

"Swing and a home run." Extremely matter of fact. Would've said "Swing and a grounder to short" with the exact same inflection. Oddly, it painted a much clearer picture than one of those hyper cub-esque calls...
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Rich isn't that weak--he can hold is own. Besides, I think you should cluster your best hitters together, to improve your chances of scoring when they come to bat.

I think Cincy needs to get a "lineup coach" to work under Narron.

Nice work Adam....we should try and have Ponson out of here pronto. Work the count and get to the bullpen so they are strained for tomorrow. 19 pitches in the first.
