    Re: Favorite Male Country Singer?

I generally do not like Male Country Vocals (can almost stand George Strait), but Mrs. TR asked me to post the following on her behalf:

Mrs Traderumor says that George Strait, Tracy Lawrence and Alan Jackson and Tim Mcgraw are the best. Following close behind is Brad Paisley (alcohol, i love that song), Sugarland and Reba, of course. I agree that theres too much rock in it esp from keith urban!! early 90s were a great time in country music!!

Sugarland might as well just qualify as Jennifer Nettles, and thats it. I look for her to be solo in a couple of years, if not earlier.

yeah, id agree with that. one of the group has already left. Jennifer Nettles does great with Bon Jovi though, I love that song and they just kinda seem to click. btw, this is mrs traderumor, im just starting to get mr TR knowing about country music.

I like Brad Paisley the best from the current crop - I think his "Mud On the Tires" album is very very good. There are others I like, including Alan Jackson, George Strait, and even some Tim McGraw and (gasp!) Kenny Chesney - which probably isn't "cool" but hey.

The hell with it. I'll admit that I love Kenny Chesney. People can say all they want, but I can relate to so many of his songs especially if you live in the country like me. Dierks Bentley and Brad Paisley are a close second. I also am enjoying Johnnny Cash and Waylon here lately. I really just started listening hardcore to their music and are quickly rising to possibly my all-time favorites. So I guess I'm cool enough now?

The second time was at a small theater on Nob Hill in San Francisco, we had to park at one of the 5 Star Hotels like the Fairmont and the show was full of overly educated white folks in evening garb.
Saw George Jones once at the Crystal Pistol in Fairborn. When you walked into the place, they had 4 big B+W pictures in the hallway, Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, Patsy Cline, and Bob Wills.

As a semi-hippie in the early 70's, it was a semi-dangerous place to go. But I tucked in my ponytail and got hooked on country going there to see Jones, Conway Twitty, Buck Owens, Eddie Rabbit (well, OK, sorta country), Marty Robbins, Lo-retta, Tammy, Kitty Wells, etc.
