I haven't listened to country in a few years. Modern country seems to be toned down rock anymore.

I am, and always will be, huge Garth Brooks and George Strait fans though.
My dad got to enjoy 3 Reds World Championships by the time he was my age. So far, I've only gotten to enjoy one. Step it up Redlegs!

Johnny Cash. Followed closely by George Brooks and Alabama. Some other old stuff I like... everything else: all this new country crap is unlistenable drivel, IMO. JMO.

I would have to choose between Brad Paisley and Keith Urban. Although I cannot stand Celebrity, every other song is great. Keith Urban is a great guitar player and a better songwriter.

sava, it sounds like you need to take a good listen to my favorite country artist, Brad Paisley.

One of the nicest and most humble guys there is, and he's country. He does rock it up with his guitar wizardry sometimes, though.

    Re: Favorite Male Country Singer?

I agree with the sentiment that what's called country these days is nothing more than pop music.

Hence my love of a gentleman named Hank Williams the III. Sounds very similar to his grandaddy and pretty much hates the establishment. Brings a punk attitude to country, but that probably because he also has a punk band as well as playing bass for Superjoint Ritual [with former Pantera lead singer Phil Anselmo] so his music is less about 'Music Row' and more about whats on his mind, much like singers of the past.

Check out his latest CD 'Straight to Hell' He recorded it for like 450 dollars on his own equipment.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

Of the current crop, Brad Paisley for the songwriting and guitar playing. I like Trace Adkins, as I have a deep voice and if I could carry a tune... well, I still wouldn't sound like him but I'd like to.
