With Rick Rubin tooLooks like I stand corrected on the Dixie Chicks, they have a new album coming out. Their new song, "Not Ready to Make Nice" is about everything that has happened.

Basically the only semi-country band I can stomach. I haven't heard their new album -- The Onion's AV Club kind of panned it because it wasn't really country or rock, but somewhere in between.Originally Posted by pedro
I'm still searching for the acoustic version of "Carl Perkins' Cadillac". I only heard it once, but it haunts me to this day.

Rodney Crowell is in that group, too. Funny song.Originally Posted by WVRed

I have and really like This World Just Won't Leave Us Alone. I have meant to pick up their first record for a long time and just never have.Originally Posted by pedro
Another underrated band that I really like is Richmond Fontaine. Their album Post to Wire is great.
Richmond Fontaine is one of our local darlings here in PDX

I haven't but Pedro went to their last record release show IIRC.Originally Posted by nycredsfan
They are really good although sometime they play w/out the pedal steel player and it's nt quite as interesting.

The first time I saw the DBT's [ before Gangstabilly was released ] they were touring with the Star Room Boys and sharing the drummer and bass player. The Truckers have been my favorite band ever since.
Favorite Group in Country Music?
Definitely a Trick Question. I'm using all my lifelines, Regis..

The Dixie Chicks are cool now. They dissed the man. The authority figure.
Cue Rick Rubin and undoubtely a song about their traumatic experience.
Frankly I think it's absurd anyone cared what they said.
This is the time. The real Reds organization is back.
What were they when they were selling all those CD's before they dissed the man?The Dixie Chicks are cool now.
I mean other than good role models for girls who were interested in music.
