    A Cruel Joke?

remember the WBC report that Clemens puts Icy Hot on his jewels before the game starts.

    This from BP

Jake Peavy is putting Icy Hot in his jock before starts, reportedly because Roger Clemens told him that’s what he does. Anyone else have a feeling the Rocket is on the floor, laughing his ass off about now?

let me just tell you that it is not a comfortable feeling....

Why someone would do it on purpose and not get money, I do not know.

when asked about his use of "Icy Hot" in his jock, Peavey was quoted as saying "Icy Hot? I am using dry ice...no wonder I have all this smoke"
"Sometimes, it's not the sexiest moves that put you over the top," Krivsky said. "It's a series of transactions that help you get there."

I heard Jim Leyritz (sp?) on MLB radio the other day saying that Clemens really does it. He saw it while they were Yankees.

If this makes him pitch better, then technically isn't he guilty of putting a foriegn substance on the balls?

    Re: A Cruel Joke?

When I played summer ball in high school, we had this guy on our team that pitched every game (2 games a week). He was basically our only real pitcher. If we were up by alot, then others would pitch after we got the lead.

One day, before the game he was rubbing Icy Hot on his shoulder, and arm when he scratched his armpit with the same hand and got that junk all in his pit. He was screaming like a little girl, but went out and pitched a one hitter. Would have been a no hitter, but this punk kid hit a bloop single in the top of the 7th (7 inning games).

We made him rub that stuff in his pit every game. He only lost one game that year, and it was before the icy hot incident.

I'm wondering how the reporter knows this.
