    Best Comedy Movies.

This has been done before but we have a lot of newer people now so,

IMO, you have to put Blazing Saddles in a class all by itself, nothing else is even close.

    1- The Naked Gun.
    2- Naked Gun Two.
    3- Naked Gun 33 and a third.
    4- Maverick.
    5- The Jerk.

Wow Sava, I would say a good list but since I must be living a sheltered life and I hate to admit, other than Blazing S's there is only one of those I have seen. I need to come out of my cave sometime huh?

If you haven't watched a Marx Brothers movie, you really should.

Groucho's timing and delivery is timeless. He's what every improv artist should aspire to be.

    Easy Money
    Back to School
    Beverly Hills Cop
    The Big Lebowski (new classic)

    The Cable Guy

So many great lines from this flick...
"Just wanna hang out... NO BIG DEAL!"
"Hey, I never made a slam dunk before, thanks for the boost."

    Trading Places (maybe the best)

"WHO been puttin' they coals out on my carpet?!?!"

Ahhhh... the days when Eddie Murphy was still funny and edgy.

It isn't your traditional comedy but Wes Anderson's first film Bottle Rocket is a personal favorite.

    Re: Best Comedy Movies.

Did anyone else know that Buster Keaton was born in Piqua? It's true.

Buster Keaton, Charles Chaplin and Harold Lloyd were unstoppable during the silent movie era.
Shortly after that, Laurel and Hardy and W.C. Fields took over with spectacular results. But the Marx Brothers turned it into a true, mad, anarchic artform which has yet to be matched. Period. Oh, many have tried, but none have come close.
It is too bad such greats as The General, Never Give A Sucker A Even Break, Duck Soup, The Navigator, Way Out West, My Little Chickadee (fields and Mae West), The Great Dictator, Sons of the Desert, Seven Chances, Sherlock Jr., City Lights, Safety Last, Speedy, The Bank Dick and Modern Times have been forgotten by the general public - along with the great Marx Brothers list Sava gave.

    Other greats:
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
The Produces, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, SpaceBalls.
    There's Something About Mary.
    Harold and Maude.
Psycho (yes, Hitchcock did consider it a dark comedy)
    Brazil
    Any of the Austin Powers
    Airplane!
    Some Like It Hot
    Bad Taste
    The Evil Dead II
    Attack of the Killer Tomatos
    Any Monte Python movie
    Shaun of the Dead
    Dumb and Dumber
    The Man With Two Brains
Dr. Strangelove (one of my all-time favorites)
    Many others.

Oh, btw...Buster Keaton was born in Piqua, Kansas. Not Piqua Ohio.

I just got the 3oth anniversary DVD on Blazing Saddles a couple weeks ago. A classic Johnny!

"Hey! You cant park that horse there!"

    My list?...

    Young Frankenstein
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
    Caddy Shack
O Brother Where Art Thou? ("You ain't bonafide!")
Airplane ("I like my coffee black.... like my men.")
Animal House ("seven years of college down the drain.")
Office Space ("we're going to federal pound me in the *** prison!")
    A Hard Days Night

But if any of the old time classics come on, I can't turn them off...

3 Stooges, Abbott & Costello, Marx Brothers
