    Ron Oester Arrested

    LAST UPDATE: 4/27/2006 4:28:57 PM

A former Cincinnati Red was arrested Thursday afternoon. Longtime second baseman, Ron Oester, was arrested for disorderly conduct around 2:20 pm outside the Campbell County District Courthouse. Police say Oester wanted to talk to officers about a guilty verdict his daughter had just received for a traffic offense. Officers say he became "belligerant, yelling curse words and physically flailing about." Police tell Local 12 Oester resisted several warnings to calm down, before his arrest.

    I'm sure he blames JimBo.

A malinformed version of "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em?"
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

He was just showing off his coaching style. Had they indulged him, he'd have then taunted the officers with some feminine hygiene products.

I'm just taking a wild guess but I don't think Marty will have as much to say about this as he did when JimBo got arrested.

Ron Oester's daughters are in their early- to mid-twenties. It's not like these are 16-year-old kids who even really needed their father there.

I like him, but I think he's kind of a nutjob.

Maybe he had a hallucination that the cop was an umpire who had just blown a call.

    Re: Ron Oester arrested

Is he employed these days? If not, it'll be a little tougher now to re-enter the job market having to check that "Yes" box next to "Have you ever been arrested...?"

Maybe he got confused when he saw blue uniforms and thought he was dealing with umpires?

[edit]traderumor beat me to the umpire joke while I was slowly typing it out.

He wasn't flailing, he was running through the signs.
