I'm going to be in Las Cruces in a couple weeks. Flying in and out of El Paso. I might have a few days to kill between being there and meetings in Dallas.

What is *can't miss* down your way?

"can't miss" ? That's a tough one. But I do like the Cattleman's Steak House located 35 minutes from El Paso in the opposite direction of Las Cruces.

There is shopping in Juarez, Mexico. You take a trolley from El Paso and they drop you off in the shopping areas.

If you got a whole day to burn, Carlsbad Caverns is about a 2.5 hour drive away. Beware of bats.

I was wondering about the Juarez shopping. Didn't know if it was safe.

Of course after some of our *discussions* here at RedsZone, maybe that's why you are suggesting it.

It's safe during the daytime. And the trolley drops you off in the "tourist" marketplace areas. However, I wouldn't recommend going to the bars in Juarez at night.

No. There are off limits establishments that are however.

The Army is required to have a briefing before the go and check out and in with the unit. The are also required to have a DA Form 31 Army Pass/Leave form.
