I think you are overrating Buchholz a bit. This is the same guy that has allowed nearly a hit per inning in his minor league career, and his K rate is merely average at 6.93.

    2004 AAA ERA-5.23

I think the Astros game plan was to let Phillips swing at bad pitches. Looks like the Reds got wind of it. It's not working.

He's had his minor league struggles, but when healthy there are few better. And like I said, his stuff is outstanding; the results just haven't been there yet.

Valentin swung at a 0-1 pitch in the dirt, next pitch he flies to left.

    2-0 Astros after 2.

Don't worry the Reds will do much better the second time around. Hey, they can't do worse.

The good thing is that the Reds will probably force him to throw a number of pitches the second time through and cause him to exit by the end of the sixth. While I'm not ready to say the Astros' bullpen sucks (just scuffling a bit), they should be easier pickins' than Buchholz

The Lizard is following the rest of the starting rotation. Have one bad inning and then settle down and pitch good ball.

Strikeout of Berkman after allowing a homerun in the previous AB.

    Sweet brushback.

Will the Astros retailiate? It wasn't on purpose, but the Astros pitchers don't need much of a reason.

If Gameday is correct, Freel just swung at a 2-2 pitch that almost hit him on the foot.

    Walks are a good thing.
    I miss Adam Dunn.
