    NL Standings 5/3/05

Keeping in mind that Atlanta, St. Louis, Houston, and San Diego made the playoffs last year, maybe we don't have it sewn up yet. On the up side, only the White Sox had a higher win pct at this time last year than the Reds' current .704.

    NL standings, May 3, 2005

    Florida 15-9 .625
    Atlanta 15-11 .577
    Washington 14-13 .519
    New York 13-14 .481
    Philadelphia 12-15 .444

    Central
    St. Louis 17-8 .680
    Chicago 12-13 .480
    Milwaukee 12-13 .480
    Houston 11-14 .440
    Cincinnati 10-16 .385
    Pittsburgh 9-16 .360

    West
    Los Angeles 17-9 .654
    Arizona 16-11 .593

Hard to imagine a year ago Marlins fielded a MLB squad instead of their current AAA split squad this year.

Those of us caught up in 19-8 should take note of the Dodger and Florida records in the above post. The Dodgers simply fell off the cliff. Florida did not make the playoffs.
    "Is there a problem officers?"

The Dodgers fell off a serious injury cliff, however.

I wish; at least that way I'dve seen 'em here in Albuquerque last year; a number skipped AAA altogether

Yep, they would have won the West hands down if they hadn't been attacked and savagely beaten by the Injury Bug.
We'll burn that bridge when we get to it.
