Think Marvin should have drafted a wideout?

    http://www.rotoworld.com/includes/to....asp?sport=NFL

Bengals WR Chris Henry is being investigated for an "alleged crime of a sexual nature."
Three strikes and you're out? "Of a sexual nature" could mean a lot of things, but Henry is likely facing his third arrest since December. The talented wideout is scheduled to go to trial on firearm charges later this month. If the Bengals don't seriously punish Henry, the league should.

There is no doubt in my mind that Marvin will completely cut ties with the young reciever. Clearly, this is a case of too much too soon for Henry. He wasn't ready for the pressure of being a professional athelete. They are fine as far as wide recievers go with Tab Perry and Kelley Washington, so I see no reason to keep a guy like this around. He could have been something special, and still could turn things around, but not in Cincinnati.

They did sign Kelly Washington rather than let him walk. I think, had Henry's ducks been in a row, Washington would have been gone, as he was fairly superfluous, and not just for his stupid celebrations after routine catches.

From what I understand - one of his buddies checked into a hotel with his credit card - other than that he was not involved in any way. A non-story other than the fact the guy needs some new friends.

Wonder if it was one of the same friends that was involved in the gun charges in Fla? This is a non-story, but on the other hand, it isn't if you want to look at what Henry has already been involved in, and the friends he apparently surrounds himself with. This guy can't keep his nose clean for whatever reason. The Bengals will claim its not a distraction, but it is to some extent. You hate to see a guy with so much potential keep being brought up in these discussions, but he clearly has character issues. When you're career is on the line, you better stay out of any situation that could hurt you any more that you already are. That includes surrounding yourself with better people. He got in trouble by being caught with drugs, which is bad enough, then he gets arrested for firearm charges. How do you let yourself get caught breaking the law in such a close timeframe? That is just totally irresponible. Now this. No matter if it was him or not, you know his friend probably doesn't have the cleanest past. You just can't take that kind of chance in being associated with somebody like that.

Local 12 was investigating this story all day long Wednesday. Team officials tell Brad they have been made aware of the investigation. After conversation with both investigators and Chris Henry, team officials believe he was not involved in any criminal activity, and have been led to believe at this time he will not be charged with any crime.

Henry was implicated in this investigation, because he allegedly gave his credit card to a friend to use at a Covington hotel this weekend. When the complaint, involving a crime of sexual nature, was filed by a female, the credit card led police to Henry. He was not at the hotel when police contacted him.

Re: Think Marvin should have drafted a wideout?

They actually did draft three wide receivers, though they were with their final three picks. Texas A&M's Reggie McNeal is likely to stick as the now popular QB/WR "slash" type player, and they got Kilmer from Penn State who might make the team due to his great special teams play. A kid named Brazell from LSU was the third wideout they got in the draft, he was the one who was also on Olympic sprinter for the US this past year. McNeal is a pretty safe pick to make the team, and due to the loss of Kevin Walter (specifically his work as gunner on the ST unit) I would say Kilmer has a fair chance of making the team.

Anyhow, I've also heard that Henry isn't involved in the alleged "act" itself but was tied to it somehow, so the credit card angle makes sense. If this really is on him, a gun charge, a drug charge and a sexual charge would truly make him this town's hat trick hero, eh?
