    Minor League Update for 5/4/06

Reds Minor League teams playing tonight: Louisville is at Charlotte with Germano on the hill, Tennessee is at Chattanooga (however odd that sounds) with Kelly pitching, Sarasota is at Dunedin with Lecure going tonight, and Dayton is a Clinton with Stevens toeing it up.

As of now, BJ hit a 2 run homer. Seems to be heating it up now. Have we found the only person who likes the state of Iowa? (Just kidding Iowans/Hawkeyes.)

Re: Minor League Update for 5/4/06

After 1, Dayton is up 2 -0. Stevens gave up a double, but runner gets thrown out after attempting to steal 3rd. Stevens had one strikeout in the inning.

Scoreless in Dunedin, with Lecure giving up a hit and had a strikeout.

    Edit: 2nd Inning update.

Dayton: Holden gets a base hit in the top half, Stevens gives up a long fly ball, then strikes out another, but gives up a solo HR and then another double and single. After a long AB, strikeouts out another.

Sarasota: Rosales with a single and a SB, but left stranded in the top half. Lecure allows a walk and strikes out one in another scoreless inning.

    Stevens 2IP, 3H, 2R, 2ER, 3K, 0BB, 1HR.
    Lecure 2IP, 1H, 0R, 0ER, 2K, 1BB.

I seriously hope Lecure or Ward aren't PTBNL. Rather Mr. Cash.

    Sarasota
    Lecure now 4 IP, 5H, 1 R, 0ER, 2 SO, 1BB.
Rosales 2 for 2. Coming out of his slump? Hopefully.

    Stevens 3 IP, 5H, 2R, 2ER, 6SO, 0BB.

BJ is 2/2 so far with a HR.

EDIT: Stevens now through 4, with another 2 strikeouts.

B.J. with another home run, 4-4 2hr's and a double. Playing much better. Jay Bruce also goes deep for his 5th of the season.

I wonder if we'll see B.J. bumped up to Sarasota at the break if he can continue showing some life with the bat considering his age.

Knowing the start he got off to, BJ will need many more huge games.

B.J.! He started this way last year and then got hot later in the season. Hopefully he can keep it up.

Bruce is showing a lot of power so far this season. A lot of scouts have thought his power wouldnt come around for a few years. He is on pace for over 25 home runs this season. As for BJ, he has been hitting the crap out of the ball the last week after slumping for the entire month of April.

Stevens had a good outing getting 9 K's in either 4 or 5 innings.

Not really sure. Szymanski needs to show me a whole lot more and soon before I think about him in Cincinnati. Bruce currently shares time with Szymanski in CF/RF. They both play both positions. I think the odds of Bruce making it to Cincinnati are much better than those of Szymanski.
