    My wife and I like to think of names that just don't work for pets. Like Debra and Marilyn.

    I wanted to name our last cat Rover or Spot.

    Got overruled on that one though.

    So we named him Cujo instead.

    Same here.

    One of our cats is named "Dan Rather". Not sure why, other than it was just a 'weird' name for a pet.

    We too have a lot of free time (as evidenced by my frequent postings on RZ).

    My buddy had a wiener dog named Rover. I actually like that for a cat too.

    I love the name Fido. That's pure dog classic. Of course, since we're talking about a female dog here, you'd need to make it Fideaux.
