Had a dog when we were kids, and called him Banjo.

Advice from your friendly neighborhood veterinarian (as of next Wed). Whatever you do, never, never, NEVER name your pet "Lucky." It's a death sentence.

Our little girl kitty seems to like her name - Dunner.

My kitty likes her name too- Larkin. I'm getting a couple kittens when I move across the country for grad school this summer. I'm thinking about naming them Casey and Boonie.

By the way, my vote for the dog's name is Griffey.

I call my sister-in-law's dogs "Devil Dog" and "Hound of Hell".

    I hear "Schottzie" is available.

Wow... it is hard to think of decent (and perhaps unique) pet names!

The only think I would suggest is, avoid giving your dog a name that someone might name their child. My wife and I have a few names we like for our next child that we don't want to use simply because an aunt decided to give that name to her dog.

I used to have dogs named Torre and Zim. Torre passed away RIP, and Zim now resides across the country following a semi-ugly custody battle (it's a good thing you're married, that's all I've got to say).

but these weren't just arbitrary names -- they both actually resembled their namesakes (they were pug mutt mixes). I am all for baseball names if there's physical reason for it. Maybe you could post a picture?

Apart from that I like names that are random human names (NOT a name you'd give your child -- say, Mary Anne) or names from a different language, or totally random names, like Penguin. But that's just me.
