We had an Irish Setter named Patty when I was a kid. So maybe a female name associated with wherever labs come from???

I've heard that Labrador Retrievers hail from "Retriever."

Is there a prize to the person who submits the winning entry?
My dad got to enjoy 3 Reds World Championships by the time he was my age. So far, I've only gotten to enjoy one. Step it up Redlegs!

Joseph, When we got our lab back in December my daughter wanted a girl lab and wanted to name her Lucy from the Chronicles of Narnia. We ended up with a boy lab and named him Zorro. I did think Lucy was a quite fitting name for a girl dog though, especially a lab.

We named our yellow lab Elsa after the Born Free lioness.

On the Narnia theme, our chinchilla was named Martin, from the Redwall books.

My male black lab was Cooper. We had a neighbor that named their black lab Cole.

You could do the Stephen Wright thing and named your dog Stay, e.g. "come here, Stay. No, Stay, come here, Stay, I'm telling you to come here".
