Imagine this line if he kept this up over 600 ABs

    120 RBIs

Cueto has pitched 2 really good games in a row.
    7 Innings, 1 Hit, 0 Runs, 0 BB, 7 K

Its a complete game since they are playing a double header today.

    Cueto: 7 innings, 1 hit, 0 runs, 0 walks, 7 strikeouts

Johnny Cueto gets credited with the complete game shutout since they only play seven innings in minor league doubleheaders.

Check out Cueto's updated 2006 stats:

    40 IP, 23 H, 4 HR, 6 BB, 52 K, 0.73 WHIP, 2.92 ERA

Pelland is another guy that needs to move to the pen. The Reds have a whole flock of them: Fisher,Avery,Chick,Pelland and Ward. All of them are fastball guys with no real secondary pitch, or at least one that is effective.

Matter of fact, the only pitchers in the Reds entire system who have the makeup to be starters are Bailey,Wood,Cueto,Lecure and Stevens(well, Gonzo to if he ever decided to show back up lol)

That they say friends, is a thin crop of possible future starters. Might as well build up the pen.

Cueto may be the #1 pitching prospect very soon.

Problem is the roster shows him being slightly built. Not sure off the top of my head, but I think under 6 ' and 170-ish.

I guess Pedro fit that description and at his age (20), Cueto still may be growing, so who knows.

It depends on stuff and delivery. If he throws like Oswalt, we don't have a problem and if he has 3 good pitches, that further enhances his future. No doubt Cueto along with Bailey and Wood are the Reds most electric pitchers, it falls off greatly after them.

Medlock got reduced to a reliever because he doesn't have a great arm and is a 2 pitch pitcher.

He's also only OBPing in the .350 range -- the majority of which is hit-driven. Ideally, I'd like to see him increase his selectivity and up his walk rate (above the current 1 BB / 11.4 PA -- by comparison, Adam Dunn's first year at low-A had him at 1 BB / 7.8). However, I think as he starts developing a reputation as a hitter that doesn't miss mistake pitches, he'll start to see fewer pitchers challanging him. Once that happens, it'll be interesting to see whether his K rate increases (indicating he's pressing at the plate) or his BB rate increases.

That'll be the true measure of where Jay Bruce is as a hitter.

OBM you just beat me to it....

Chris Denorfia is 1-2 with a walk and an RBI for Louisville tonight, who is winning 4-2 in the 7th.

Chattanooga is losing 4-3 in the 7th.
