    Mays to Bats; Buchanan released

FARM FACTS - Though Louisville still must make a move to get Joe Mays on its roster, the Bats did some additional shuffling Friday.

In need of a roster spot for Ray Olmedo, who was optioned down after Thursday's game, the Bats released outfielder Brian Buchanan. The veteran hitting star of spring training saw everything deteriorate once the season started. He was hitting .179 in 24 games for the Bats.

Another former Grapefruit League standout the Reds released earlier this month, Rob Stratton, has landed with the Yankees and Dave Miley's Columbus Clippers. He started in right field for Columbus Friday.

I'm not sure if I want him to pitch well.

Krivsky did say that he didn't sign Mays to pitch in AAA.

And my mistake, he piches tonight, not last night.
