I guess I'm dating myself a bit to say that I had not.

Thanks. I had never seen that.

I remember one time going out to the mound to talk with Bob Gibson. He told me to get back behind the batter, that the only thing I knew about pitching was that it was hard to hit.

Oh wow...thanks for posting that...that really made my day!
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

IIRC that game was on tv, I recall watching it as it happened. I can remember talking about it in school the next day and our principal saying that he wasn't suprised at what Monday did because he was a class act.

Yes, I remember seeing it too. My Dad had to explain to me what those guys were planning on doing with the flag. There are lots of things I have forgotten about MLB since then, but I have always remembered Rick Monday's actions that day.

I can remember seeig it on the sports highlights on the local news the next day. I always thought it was a great thing Monday did and will always feel admiration towards him for doing that.

Something I never noticed before. As Monday is running away with the flag, you can see one of these losers throw something at Rick. What was it?

My favorite part of that iintervew segment is the clip of the smarmy Steve Garvey hanging out in front of his swimming pool, which is he probably since lost in bankruptcy.
