Denorfia flies out to end the threat. Second inning in a row the Bats leave the bases loaded, but at least they got a couple runs out of it this time. 5-3 Pawtucket, middle 8th. Scott Chiasson now in to pitch for Louisville.

Quick work in the bottom of the 8th. The first two outs were both running, sliding catches, nice defense. Not enough to offset the 3 errors earlier, but nice nonetheless.

Abad, Bannon and Bergolla are the last hopes for the Bats in the 9th.

Snyder led off, not Abad. Good thing too, he just blasted one to left to close the gap to 5-4. 5th homer of the year for Earl Snyder.

Abad singles past the 3rd baseman to put the tying run on base.

Scrappiness! Bannon bunts to the right side of pitcher's mound. Pitcher can't quite handle it, and it's a single. Matt Kata will pinch run for Abad. 1st and 2nd, no outs for Bergolla.

Bergolla sac bunt moves the runners. Alex Sanchez batting with men on 2nd and 3rd, 1 out. Sanchez is 1-4 tonight with a bunt single.

Sanchez lays down yet another bunt. He's safe, but Kata got hung up between 3rd and home and was tagged out. That puts runners on 1st and 2nd, two outs for Ryan Jorgensen. Jorgensen has reached base all four times up 2-2, 2 walks, 1 run, 1 RBI.

Valiant effort the last 3 innings, but the Bats go down tonight. Jorgensen checked his swing, but still wound up making contact, a slow roller to the pitcher for the third out.
