Travis Wood gets a dribbler to Dejesus at second for the first out of the 2nd inning.
Wood jumps ahead 1-2 on the #2 hitter of the inning before missing with a fastball to even the count up at 2-2. Wood drops in a curve but misses low. Wood throws another curve that is fouled off. Mercado hits one off the wall, that is then kicked by Josh Holden, but Mercado is held to a double.
Wood induces a pop up on the infield for the second out of the inning.
Wood seems to be just missing the zone with his curveball tonight. Walks the #8 hitter in the line up after missing on back to back curve balls.
Mike Dejesus boots a ground ball and it costs the Dragons a run.
    SilverHawks lead 1-0.
Wood gets a pop up to first base to end the inning.
SilverHawks score on an error and lead 1-0 after 2 innings.

JD Reininger leads off the 3rd with a single for the Dragons.
    Josh Holden strikes out.
BJ Szymanski strikes out on a slider to make the second out of the inning.
Jay Bruce made an out....dont know how, but it ended the inning.

down in Sarasota, the Reds are now leading 6-0 after 6. Brandon Roberts had his 2nd RBI of the night.

Travis Chick throws a 1-2-3 first inning with a strikeout.

In that game, the pitching matchup is Chick vs Chico.

Nice to see Wood do well without his best stuff tonight.

I wonder when the Chick transfer is going to come. He shows he can strike people out on this level, but when you only have a 4 seamer and a inconsistant slider, you get predictable and beat around. Pelland probably isn't far behind.

I think Chick and Pelland have better stuff than Shafer and Medlock and while I am hopeful they can be starter, I am curious to see how their stuff would work in 1-2 inning stints (you would have to think their velocity would increase to maybe mid 90s - now that would be nice to add to Coffey, Belisle and whatever..)

Robert Manuel pitched relief for the Dragons today.
    2 2/3 Innings, 2 Hits, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K

    Did anyone see him pitch?
Just wondering because I havent found a scouting report on him.
