Agreed M2, a professional hitter must get that run in from third. The K looking made it even more of a debacle.

Ok, but Javy can't start on back-to-back days?

Well, LaRue is the superior player, so I'm not sure why we would want Javy playing back to back games.

Well if you're trying to get PT for three catchers...
    Dunno...ask Narron.

The cubs and their bullpen had a long day yesterday so the key to the game will be to make Wood throw alot of pitches early and get to the bullpen.

Is there supposed to be a smiley after that? Larue sucks. Enough said.

Dusty decided he'd copy Narron and insert the scrappy vet Todd Walker in the clean up spot too. It looks like Dusty just picked names out of a hat.

I agree with TB, what the heck does Kearnsy have to do to move up in the lineup?

Let's try not to turn this into yesterday's game thread, but LaRue has shown over his career he is better than Valentin.

OPS correlates to runs scored awfully well and LaRue beats Valentin no matter how you slice it.

    LaRue:
    Career- .744
    2006- .681 (68 at-bats)
    2005- .807
    2004- .765

    Valentin:
    Career- .696
    2006- .661 (73 at-bats)
    2005- .882
    2004- .674

I see no reason to believe that Valentin is better than LaRue. LaRue is a top 10-15 catcher in baseball.

Before we start, let's have a good day on my first game thread of the year. I was also just thinking that the Cubs may have done the worst recent thing to a player in what they have done to Kerry Wood. I think that they have almost completely ruined his career by pushing too much. He will never be the same.

Wood is bringing it 95 mph.. This could be a long day for the reds.
