Can't wait to see what Germano can bring (if anything) to the table.Originally Posted by captainmorgan07

CHICAGO -- Following this afternoon's game, Matt Belisle headed back to Cincinnati. He's experiencing pain in his lower back and will be examined by Doc Kremchek tomorrow morning.
There is no DL move yet, but just in case, the Reds are having Justin Germano fly into Chicago so they'll have another body available tomorrow night. Germano is 3-6 with a 4.66 ERA in 10 starts for Louisville.
It sounds like Germano wont be able to pitch unless Belisle goes on the DL.Originally Posted by captainmorgan07
Im guessing they must think Belisle is going to go on the DL if they are flying Germano to Chicago.
I hope he does well and some other guys in the pen head out as a result
Go Gators!
I can't get real excited about Germano. It's scarey knowing he is the best that the Reds minor league system currently has to offer. I hope I am wrong about him though and he comes up here and pitches well, the bullpen needs a boost to say the least.
That doesn't mean he is the best they have to offer. With the option rules along with starting the free agent clock it could just be an emergency guy that they can send back down. Too bad Wagner isn't ready.Originally Posted by jimbo
Belisle is more of a swing guy, a guy you have go out there multiple innings. I think thats why they called up Germano. Wagner seems like a 1 inning relief guy... and thats if he can even put up a good performance. He's been terrible. Looking more and more like a bust, unfortunately.Originally Posted by Reds1

Ryan Wagner still has enough upside that he'll get tossed into some deal as filler. He actually might be back something.
Some people play baseball. Baseball plays Jay Bruce.
Didn't Belisle have back surgery in the minors???
I would have preferred Coutlangus (insert crude joke here)....

Hard to sum up in words how much I don't want to see soft-tossing Justin Germano taking the mound in a Reds uniform.
I'm not a system player. I am a system.
Geez, everyone is talking about Germano and not even mentioning that it's a shame about Belisle!
I hope what ever it is that it's minor. Good luck to you Matt; get well quickly.
