Ryan Howard doesn't pull the ball, at all.

Look at that! That is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen in baseball. Ryan Howard is a huge lefty, but has not hit a single homer to right field this year.

That's impressive, last year only 2 HRs out to right.

Comparing Howard and Dunn is interesting. Howard has a very nice average but his OBP is slightly under Dunns (.360 to .376 respectively) but the more telling stat is the Runs I think. Dunn may not hit the signle as well as Howard but his ability to get on base is showing him to be more valuable as a run on the scoreboard than Howard is.

Still, I'd like to see Dunn spray it like Howard does. The shot to the opposite field is a thing of beauty.

Interestingly enough, Look at Dunn's hitting chart for Homeruns at Wrigley.

    ALL opposite field shots (4).

    That is interesting.

Howard is also a good 1B. I have him on my fantasy team. He's a nice player.

I think of them this way. Dunn could be the next Jim Thome. Howard could be the next David Ortiz.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I thought one of Howard's HRs in GABP went into the Moon Deck?

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

You're correct. The above chart is for Citizens Bank Park.

In the series against the Reds he hit a HR to left-center(opp field) and he pulled his hands in on the swing. I pointed out that I had never, and I mean that literally, seen a opposite field HR when a hitter pulled their hands in. It was truly amazing.

Compare Howard's HRs at home to his ground outs at home.

If ever there was a guy who should see an infield shift, it's Howard.

John Kruk started out that way with the Padres.
It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...
