    I'm not a big fan of "the book" in this case. Do you have a righty closer and a lefty closer? No. You have a closer. Same goes for a top setup guy, IMO. For the Reds, Weathers is the top setup guy, as was Coffee before, regardless of who is at the plate. Since Weathers was used and Coffee will be in for the save you go with your next best - Mercker, who has performed well in that role in the past.

    No question. I just didn't want to roll the dice on him in a situation like this. I'm not advocating getting rid of him or anything of the sort, I know he has been solid in the past.
