    Re: Redszone mock draft?

Good night. You know, I promised myself on Friday I would get to bed by 9pm tonight, so I can get up early tomorrow. <shakes head> Just didn't happen. I'll be very mad at myself if I don't make my wake up call.

All for a good cause, though, right?

Thanks to OBM, and everyone else for taking part in this.

It was a lot of fun and I hope we make it a yearly tradition.

With the 91st pick in the MLB Amatuer Entry draft, the Washington Nationals select:

Andy Underwood, RHP, Fresno State University

3.11 ERA, 4 CGs, 108/33 BB/K ratio in a 6-5 frame. Bowden likes what he sees.

I was having a ton of fun until Baseball America spoiled the party by making us get rid of the "Top 200" list and I had to go do research on my own.

I agree, this has been a blast, and I feel more informed about the draft this year than any year past.

what will be real fun is on Tuesday when we all balk or rejoice at when guys are picked that we picked "our" teams higher or lower than when we drafted them.

I think it will make draft day more fun, irregardless.

    Re: Redszone mock draft?

I agree on all points. This has been a lot of fun to do. I look forward to doing it annually. Like others, I think that Tuesday will be a lot of fun because of how informed I have become on the draft eligible players this year. In the past, I would wait for the Reds selection, go to another site and look that player up so I had an idea on what he was about. The problem was, in the past, I had one article to read. For all I know that article could have been written by an ex brother in law or something and they trashed the player for no reason, or just the opposite, giving praise when really more was needed from the player to live up to lofty expectations. This year I feel like I have a good feel for who should be taken and where...for at least the first 3 rounds. I'll be able to tell which teams are trying to draft because of budget, and which teams are really trying to improve their clubs. That, in itself, should make the draft more fun.

Ok, the Mariners picked up Brad Lincoln, rhp (#5), Jon Jay, of, (#49) and Sean Watson, rhp (#81) [final picks compliments of whomever stood in for me, sorry I missed my turn, must have been at church again for that pick]. Any comments?
