Chili, I am interested to see your second Sabeanesq pick. I liked the first one.

I was going to pick Miller on Lincoln at #10 if they fell (like that would EVER happen!!!), as those were the only 2 that I was supremely confident would become at least average major leaguers. The rest of this draft is so murky that I decided to play WWBSD. (what would Brian Sabean do).

Lolipop curve - I LOVE the Boston-area bent to your picks.

There's a certain pitcher from America's smallest state that Mr. Sabean is eying for his third pick. I get the impression that he'll be off the board if you get to pick again.

The Orioles with the 32nd pick draft Bryan Morris, rhp, Motlow State (Tenn.) CC
    http://www.baseballamerica.com/today...es/261330.html
Couldn't work things out with the Devil Rays last spring but remains under control, and with his stuff (94-96 mph fastball, big, hard curve), he's not likely to re-enter the draft.
    http://www.baseballamerica.com/today...ws/261479.html
The Devil Rays selected Morris in the third round out of Tullahoma (Tenn.) High last June, and they eventually agreed on a $1.4 million bonus. But Tampa Bay's former front office twice delayed finalizing the deal, prompting Morris to attend Motlow State (Tenn.) Community College, where his father Ricky is an assistant coach.

Morris' maintained his quality stuff this spring, showing his trademark power curveball and a 90-95 mph fastball with late life. He led Tennessee juco pitchers with a 0.91 ERA and also pulled double duty as a center fielder, a role in which he broke a bone in his left wrist on a headfirst slide. As with Beato, Morris' mechanics and command could use some improvement.

"At the end of the day, we couldn’t reach an agreement," Devil Rays executive vice president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said. "We wish him well in the future. Now we’re focused on the upcoming draft."

    AVG: .630
    AB: 108
    2B: 16
    HR: 17
