Re: Official Redszone mock draft thread

And now to close out the Diamondbacks draft we are pleased to announce last yrs co pitcher of the year in the cape cod league Tim Norton, rhp
    School: Connecticut. Class: Sr.
    Hometown: Pascoag, R.I.
    B-T: R-R. Ht.: 6-5. Wt.: 230. Birthdate: 5/23/83.

While he may be more older than some prospects we feel that he has a future ahead of him as a contributing member of the "re-surgent"
    Diamondbacks future.

Thanks Rdiersin. I didn't have the BA 200 prospect list so had to try to find different sites with draft info on players.

I think that Luke Hochevar is the second best pitcher in the draft behind Andrew Miller, so taking him was not a problem in my mind. I went with Rasmus in the 3rd round, because well had I had a later pick in the second round I would have taken him. He has said if he doesnt go in rounds 1 or 2, he will go to Auburn to play. This however was a mock draft, and I see him going in the 2nd round in the real draft, I took him with the idea that he was a second round talent that I was able to get in the 3rd round here, essentially giving me 3 picks in 2 rounds.
Good draft, doug. I like the Betances, I didn't realize he was 6'9". Always nice to have a tall pitcher or two in the system.

I liked your writeups Topcat. Has anyone heard if the Reds signed Loo yet?

Reds Fanatic hasn't been on the board since 8:45 or so. Should we wait or move on? Chili is online, but I am not sure if those after him are.

    Gallen, 2 things for ya.

    1. I think your draft was pretty solid. Reynolds I personally am not a fan of, but a lot of people like him and I think he had some good upside.

    2. I havent heard anything on Milton Loo, but I check his name in the Google News Search about once an hour hoping something pops up, but nothing yet.

Re: Official Redszone mock draft thread

With the 89th pick in the 2006 first year player draft, the San Francisco Giants select:

Colin Sabean (UT) - Junipero Serra High School, San Mateo, California
". . . acquiring J. Blanton from Oakland for, apparently, Bailey/Cueto, Votto and a lesser prospect. I do it in a second . . . The Reds' equation this year is simple: Make Matt Belisle your #3 starter . . . trade for Blanton, win 85 or more, be in the mix all summer." - Paul Daugherty, Feb. 8, 2008
