I will stand in for one of the picks to get this round moving if that is agreeable. Then, hopefully they'll be around for the other rounds.

I will take Seattle's pick and perhaps someone else can stand in for the Tigers that isn't already in?

I'm repasting my commentary here because it was in the wrong thread.

Lincecum as the #1 pick? Intriguing, TRF, but I don't think the Royals will be in risk mode, even though Allard Baird is fired the minute the draft ends. I think they'll take Miller.

I also think Hochevar is probably a little high. High in the draft order, not high like Jeff Allison or whatever. But I'm sure there's a chance the Pirates would go for it if Littlefield and McClatchy were able to get the pre-draft deal with Scott Boras.

Even though this mock draft is as decent a guess as any, I have the distinct feeling high school players, both hitters as well as pitchers, will get taken disproportionately lower than the likely outcome. Not that that's the purpose of this draft, necessarily. I know what it's really for- it's for sticking in the archives so people can gloat two or three years from now about how prescient their picks were.

Fine by me. We can't wait around all day or this thing will never get done. I'll try to get someone else to take the 6th spot.

With pick #6, the Detroit Tigers select Drew Stubbs, OF, University of Texas.

Tigers need some more bats in their system to go with last year's #1, Cameron Maybin.

    Re: Redszone mock draft?

I had the Tigers picking Lincoln as well. Then I decided to go with Stubbs when I saw how they don't have many bats in their system beyond Cameron Maybin. Plus I think I saw that Detroit was considering Stubbs or the HS lefty Kershaw, and I thought I'd make the wiser selection.

Here's the reason why I didn't volunteer before to be a part of this, OBM: are you supposed to take who you think the team would actually draft, or who, in your opinion, they should draft?

I thought it might be the second, but I didn't know for sure.
